1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Breadwinner, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Breadwinner is a receipt and spending insights platform designed for consumers in Botswana.
2. Service Description
Breadwinner provides receipt scanning, spending tracking, and price insights. We process receipt images using optical character recognition (OCR) technology to extract structured data. The accuracy of extracted data is not guaranteed — we provide manual correction tools for all scanned data.
3. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of receipt images you upload
- You must not upload receipts that belong to others without their consent
- You must review and confirm OCR-extracted data for accuracy
- You must not attempt to manipulate, exploit, or misuse the platform
- You must provide accurate account information
4. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
OCR technology is not 100% accurate. Prices, item names, store names, and other extracted data may contain errors. Breadwinner highlights low-confidence fields in red and provides manual correction tools. You should verify all data before making financial decisions based on it.
5. Currency & Market
All prices are displayed in Botswana Pula (BWP). The service is designed for the Botswana retail market and may not accurately process receipts from other countries or currencies.
6. Limitation of Liability
Breadwinner is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any financial decisions made based on the data provided by our service. Our maximum liability is limited to any fees you have paid to use the service.
7. Points, Earning Limits and Expiry
Breadwinner awards points for using the service: +50 for your first receipt upload, +10 for each further receipt, +20, +50 and +100 for streaks of 2, 4 and 8 consecutive weeks, and +50 and +25 when someone you referred signs up and uploads their first receipt.
Monthly earning ceiling. Points earned from receipt uploads are capped at 200 points in a calendar month. Once you reach the ceiling, further receipts still count towards your streak but stop adding points until it resets on the 1st of the next month. Streak and referral bonuses are not capped.
Expiry. Points remain valid for 12 months after your most recent receipt upload. Every upload resets the clock. If 12 months pass without an upload, the balance lapses and is removed from your account, and we will tell you beforehand.
Spending points. Points can be exchanged for the rewards offered in your account - extra receipt uploads and Premium access. The points cost is shown before you confirm, and a redemption is final once confirmed, except where we reverse one to correct an error or address abuse.
Points have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money. We may change the earning rates, the monthly ceiling and the rewards catalogue, and will give reasonable notice when we do.
